I'm still here. Just waaaay behind. I don't think I'll be posting for a bit while I muddle my way through a busy time in work and my class. I'll still be coming around to visit though. Hopefully I'll be back on track within a week.

Oh my girls! I'm very far behind on just about everything - blogging, e-mails, projects, school work - you name it! I knew going back to school was going to be time consuming but I didn't realize how much so. Please forgive me if I seemingly disappear or if I don't answer your e-mail right away. I will catch up! I managed to squeeze one more Sweet Six project in - Cheryl's pocket. Her pocket is actually a beautiful pillow but since I don't have a sewing machine I had to improvise. I was able to make the cupcake applique and I used an idea from October's issue of Country Living for the tote bag.
Have a good weekend!

I have several vintage paper lanterns I found at the flea market months ago. I wasn't sure what to do with them but I knew something would pop up!
I've also made Natasha's bath salts jar.
I'm definitely going to make some of these for holiday gifts! Now I just need to find a few more materials and I'm going to attempt Analise's fabric flower pins.
The girls have really outdone themselves with this wonderful online art retreat! This is only week one and they have already shared some wonderful projects, decorating ideas, and giveaways. I can't wait to see what next week brings!
Update: I finished a fabric flower pin! I am so not a sewer and the basic sewing of these petals was enough to intimidate me but I'm pretty happy with the way this came out. I've added it to my work tote bag. It will brighten up Monday mornings for sure!

I instantly fell in love with Heather's fall door hanging and knew I wanted to make something similar for myself. I decided to use what had on hand and this is what I came up with. I think I'm going to add a few more flowers and foof but overall I'm pretty happy with it.
I don't know if she will see this but I want to send a big hello to my friend Judy! Judy is in the process of moving from CT to NC. She and her hubby have retired and built a lovely townhouse. I hope to make a trip down before the baby is born so that I can see their new digs. Judy and I met 8 years ago when we both started working together. I was in my first working year post college and she was making a career change after many years with another university. Neither of us were particularly looking to make friends but less than a year later we were darn near inseparable! My boss said we went together like hand in glove. It was very difficult to see her go this past week. There is certainly a big hole in my days as I'm so used to seeing her everyday. However, she is starting on such a wonderful new adventure and chapter in her life and in this day and age, you can never truly be out of touch! We have already spoken on the phone and with e-mail, cell phones, etc. I know she will remain one of my best friends. Cheers to Judy and Donald as they start down a wonderful new road!

Here is a sampling of the pages I made for Natalea's I Want Candy Swap. This will be a collaborative book with a candy theme. I know it will be fabulous and can't wait to get my completed book!
There is a lot going on this week. The fabulous Sweet Six Studio art retreat begins today. Yay! I can't wait for the fabulous projects to begin. All six of the girls have been making my mouth water with their sneak peeks.
I'm also going through yet another change this week. I begin grad school - gulp! It has been close to 10 years since I graduated from college and I truly had no intention of pursuing a graduate level degree. The funny thing is that I work at my alma mater and we get free tuition - yes you read that right - I can get my Master's degree for free. I just never had the desire, and to be truthful, I still have no desire. But there is a new master's program that is entirely online - I figured I'd at least start it and see how it goes - what do I have to lose? We'll see how this goes. I may be more scarce as I try to keep up with my art retreat projects and homework!
